BIOGRAPHY
TRISTAN BARR
Tristan was the first filmmaker down under to shoot a full-length feature film in one single take, across the span of 9 different locations and a running time of 82 minutes, ‘Watch the Sunset’, which was names by Cinema Australia as one of the top five films of the year. It has been selected in official competition at the Perth Revelation International Film, Brisbane International Festival, Byron Bay Film Festival, Sydney Underground Film Festival before traveling to the renowned Montreal World Film Festival. Tristan picked up ‘Best Director’ and ‘Best Actor’ awards in numerous festivals. The film had a successful cinema release before launching on STAN in Australia and was bought by SPI International.
A passionate visual storyteller, his other work has received consistent praise, including an accolade for ‘Best Director’ at the Canada International Film Festival for his feature project titled ‘This Little Piggy’. Multi-skilled Tristan was selected to produce the horror/comedy ‘Cursed’ show in association with Screen QLD in 2018. His latest work includes the first Korean-Australian Co-production with Jonathan M. Shiff Productions & notable Korean Producer Young Kim, a tv series based on Best Selling Book Wreck with Hoodlum Entertainment, a feature Animation with Jay Ahn the producer of the $250Mil+ box office smash “The Nut Job” and a string of other independent features and series.
Tristan is a founder of Continuance Pictures with a slate of 25+ Scripted Projects for the North American, Asian, & Australian markets. With strong ties to powerhouse distributors in Asian Continuance is slated to produce several features and shorts every year with their “Continue” film fund.
